How it works

One flow from the first call to certified copies

RestDoc360 follows the real sequence funeral homes work through — and makes the hand-offs between your team, the certifier, and the registrar visible.

End-to-end flow

Eight hand-offs, all tracked

Each step records who is responsible, what happened, and when — automatically.

  1. 01

    Case

A director opens the case with administrative details only. The case gets a reference, a priority, a location, and an owner.

    Funeral home

  2. 02

    Certifier

Assign the physician, medical examiner, or coroner from your directory. Verified contact details and consent are tracked per certifier.

    Funeral home

  3. 03

    Follow-ups

A follow-up policy sends courteous reminders on business days, inside quiet hours, optionally after director approval. They stop when the certifier responds.

    RestDoc360

  4. 04

    Escalation

Silence past the threshold, a returned record, or a looming deadline opens an escalation with severity and ownership.

    RestDoc360 → your team

  5. 05

    Submission

Once certified, the director submits the record in the state EDRS and records the submission in RestDoc with a confirmation source.

    Funeral director

  6. 06

    Registration

The registrar accepts (or returns) the record. The director records the outcome; returns capture a reason and a correction task.

    Registrar → director

  7. 07

    Copies

Certified copies are ordered and received. Quantities and dates are tracked so nothing is forgotten.

    Funeral home

  8. 08

    Family

Throughout, the family sees plain-language progress and receives updates at the milestones you choose.

    Funeral home → family

What RestDoc360 does NOT do

RestDoc360 is an administrative coordination tool. It does not replace state death registration systems or the legal responsibilities of licensed funeral directors.

No EDRS bypass

RestDoc360 never submits, edits, or retrieves records in any state death registration system. Directors register records exactly as they do today and record the result here.

No medical facts

There are no cause-of-death, manner-of-death, or Social Security number fields, and outbound messages are checked for sensitive content. The system coordinates paperwork; it does not hold clinical information.

No official certificates

RestDoc360 does not produce death certificates or certified copies. Only the issuing authority does. Documents generated here are correspondence and internal records.
